Certified Emissions Inspections in Phoenix

Why Are Emissions Inspections Important

Emissions inspections are crucial for maintaining public health and environmental quality. By ensuring your vehicle complies with AZ emissions standards, you contribute to reducing air pollution and enhancing air quality in Phoenix. Regular inspections help identify necessary repairs that can improve your vehicle's efficiency and lower harmful emissions.

Our Emissions Inspection Process

At Sundance Auto Service & Machine, our emissions inspections are thorough and conducted by certified technicians. We use the latest diagnostic tools to accurately assess your vehicle's emissions levels and identify any issues that may cause your vehicle to not meet state and federal guidelines.

Emissions Inspection Basics

Common Reasons for Failing an Emissions Test
Common issues that can cause a vehicle to fail an emissions test include a malfunctioning oxygen sensor, issues with the catalytic converter, or evaporative emission control system defects. Our team at Sundance Auto Service & Machine can diagnose and repair these issues promptly.

Emissions Control Systems Checks
Our technicians evaluate the effectiveness of your emissions control systems including catalytic converters and evaporative emissions systems.

Exhaust System Evaluation
We thoroughly inspect your vehicle's exhaust system to detect any leaks or issues that could affect emission levels.

How to Prepare for Your Emissions Inspection
To prepare for your emissions inspection, ensure your vehicle is well-maintained and that the check engine light is off. Driving the vehicle for about 30 minutes before the inspection can help warm up the engine to its normal operating temperature, which can improve test results.

Onboard Diagnostics (OBD) Analysis
An OBD test is performed to ensure that the onboard computer system of the vehicle is functioning correctly and detecting any emissions-related issues.

I ran out of gas right at the corner across the street from this shop, and the man working at Sundance was so kind, he located a gas can, filled it, asked me to please return it on my way back from getting gas, all without any question, in 110° heat, he saved me from having to walk and risk getting towed from where my truck was still in the street. A company run by empathic humans is the best in any business. These guys rock!

"WAS" a happy customer with Peoria Ford's service dept. I've used Peoria Ford for years and always took my 2011 Ford Fusion to them for all service needs. Well... my last service was terrible. (See Google Review) After a disaster with Peoria Ford's repair shop, I took my 2011 Ford Fusion SEL to this recommended Auto Repair Shop "Sundance Auto Service & Machine Shop". The shop may not look as snazzy as Peoria Ford's, but the mechanics know their stuff. John quickly and correctly diagnosed the problem within a few hours and gave me a great price to do all the work. Apparently the "Vehicle Control Arms" needed replacement as the bushings were totally worn out. A dangerous situation if not repaired. Something the Peoria Ford service department should have noticed and informed me of. But no. Not one peep about control arms from Peoria Ford. After I gave John the go ahead, Sundance not only repaired the car perfectly, but it also only took them one day to do everything. Dropped the car off that morning and picked it up the next day before noon. And I believe the price would have been nowhere near what Peoria Ford would have charged and probably still not fix the problem. Thank you, John, at Sundance Auto Service & Machine Shop for the great repair job.
